Postpartum Depression

For most women, having a baby is one of the most exciting times in their life. Now imagine coming home from the hospital, only to find that within days of giving birth, you are struggling with extreme anxiety, having full-blown panic attacks, experiencing suicidal thinking, and lacking the joy you once anticipated. This kind of suffering can be challenging and terrifying.

But there is hope found in God’s Word. This booklet equips counselors as they help women struggling with postpartum depression to understand and apply biblical truths rightly in order to find hope and pursue biblical change.

Dr. Shelbi Cullen is an Assistant Professor of Biblical Counseling at The Master’s University. She is a Grader and Assistant Supervisor for the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors. She was certified with ACBC in 2005.
