The Life of Roland Q. Leavell

This biography, written by Roland Q. Leavell's youngest daughter, relies on more than 20 years of diary entries and captures a man's struggle to find his place in the world. The eighth of nine children, he always knew that he was not wanted at birth. His character, determination, and spiritual focus helped him overcome this knowledge and later financial hardship. Serving on the Home Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention, he taught churches how to evangelize during their restructuring. He was also a former first vice president of the Southern Baptist Convention, an officer in the Baptist World Alliance, and a prolific Christian author. A former president of the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, he played a large role in shaping the institution as it stands today.
